Best cheap QLED TV deal: 55-inch Hisense for $229.99

SAVE UP TO $160: As of Dec. 30, Best Buy’s Ring in the New Year Sale features a 50-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch Hisense QLED TVs that are just about at Black Friday pricing — all at least 30% off and all below $350.

If you didn’t buy a TV on Black Friday, my next advice would typically be to wait until early February (the week of the big football game, specifically) to buy one — that’s another one of the best times of year to buy a TV.

That is, unless you happen to come across some deals that are basically still at their Black Friday pricing before it even hits the new year. That’s the story with a few Hisense QLEDs during Best Buy’s Ring in the New Year Sale, where a handful of sizes are as low as $10 away from what they were during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. If you’re a football person, why not snag a new QLED now and bask in the brightness for all of the playoffs rather than just one game on Feb. 9?

Why we like it

Hisense’s QD5 line is already really affordable in the realm of QLEDs when they’re at full price. For example, a 55-inch QLED for $399.99 is already quite digestible in itself — there’s no way you would have seen a price point like that on a QLED five years ago. Best Buy has then gone ahead and shaved over 40% off of that, putting this TV up for grabs for just $10 more than its $219.99 Black Friday price. If the idea of QLED was felt daunting in the past, this should change your mind.

Compared to regular LED TVs, QLEDs put a layer of quantum dots on top of the traditional LED panel to pump out more vibrant colors that have the capacity to get much brighter than TVs without quantum dots. This bold brightness is key for watching sports and gaming, especially in the daytime.
