Following a lengthy hiatus, the mainline Dynasty Warriors franchise is back this Friday, January 17, with the most ambitious entry in the hack-and-slash action series to date. Dynasty Warriors: Origins has some enticing launch and preorder offers that fans will want to check out before they expire.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins’ Digital Deluxe Edition is actually already available, as one of the perks of the $90 Digital Deluxe Edition is three-day early access. This version costs $90, but PC players can purchase a Steam key from Fanatical for $73.79 right now. If you want a physical edition for console, Best Buy is giving away $10 digital gift cards with preorders for PS5 and Xbox Series X. This offer isn’t available for the digital edition, but PC players can save over $12 on Steam preorders of the standard edition at Fanatical.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins Launch & Preorder Deals

Origins builds on the flashy musou combat of its predecessors, offering the biggest and most dynamic iteration of the formula yet. We awarded Origins a 7/10 in our review, and it currently holds an 80/100 Metascore and GameSpot sister site Metacritic. It’s shaping up to be a big hit with fans, too; Origins currently holds an “Overwhelmingly Positive” user review average on Steam. Since it serves as a prequel that essentially reboots the franchise, Dynasty Warriors: Origins caters to both newcomers and longtime fans. There’s a free demo available on all platforms, in case you want to check it out before preordering.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins Preorder & Early Purchase Bonus

Physical edition preorders come with a costume set featuring the four outfits shown above:

  • Garb of the Azure Bird
  • Garb of the Crimson Bird
  • Garb of the Emerald Bird
  • Garb of the Violet Bird

If you purchase a digital version of Dynasty Warriors: Origins before January 30, you’ll get the Early Works Soundtrack Collection, a massive digital compilation featuring 191 tracks from Dynasty Warriors history. Preorders for the digital editions also come with the Nameless Warrior Garb costume inspired by Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

$70 | Free $10 gift card with Best Buy preorder

The physical edition of Dynasty Warriors: Origins for PS5 and Xbox Series X is available to preorder at Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart. All retailers are offering the costume set preorder bonus, but you’ll likely want to snag your preorder from Best Buy due to the $10 digital gift card bonus. The gift card promotion expires this Thursday night, January 16.

As mentioned, PC players can save over 20% on the Steam version of Dynasty Warriors: Origins at GameSpot sister site Fanatical. With the discount, you’ll only pay $57.39 for your copy of the game.

$73.79 for PC (was $90) | Available Now

Dynasty Warriors: Origins Digital Deluxe Edition costs $90–or $73.79 at Fanatical for the PC version–and comes with a few extras. Along with the Early Works Soundtrack Collection and Nameless Warrior Garb, the Digital Deluxe Edition includes a digital book and the soundtrack for Origins, both of which are accessed inside the game. You’ll also get 10,000 gold and 30 pyroxene to use in the game.

  • Early access (available now)
  • Official book (digital edition)
  • Original soundtrack (digital edition)
  • Letters (providing 10,000 gold and 30 pyroxene)

The book sounds particularly interesting, as it includes original illustrations as well as commentary from the perspective of the nameless hero. The text expands on the lore of the Three Kingdoms and examines the backstories and relationships of key characters.

Disclosure: GameSpot and Fanatical are both owned by Fandom.
