If you blinked, you might have missed her, but yes, that was Serena Williams crip-walking during Kendrick Lamar’s performance of his Grammy-winning song ‘Not Like Us’ during the Super Bowl LIX halftime show.
The now-retired tennis superstar appeared in a monochromatic blue skirt and top, with a white undershirt. Her appearance was brief, less than five seconds, but it was her.
Williams confirmed the appearance with a video just after.
And there’s a Drake connection. It added fuel to the fire that is Kendrick’s diss-track in Not Like Us.
Drake and Serena are rumored to have dated in the early 2010s, though it’s never been confirmed.

Regardless, Kendrick invited Serena to be in the show, and the internet took notice.
Some fans suggested that it was symbolic of Williams dancing on Drake’s grave.
Others could only imagine how Drake felt seeing Williams included in the show.
Drake reportedly wrote his 2016 song ‘Too Good’ about his relationship with Serena Williams, before name-dropping her in his 2022 song, ‘Middle of the Ocean.’ In the 2022 song, Drake referred to Williams’ husband as a ‘groupie.’ Williams was also named-dropped in his 2013 song, ‘Worst Behavior.’
But, really, has anyone checked on Drake after that halftime show?
