How to craft materials in Avowed

One of the first tips and tricks Avowed teaches the player is that they are not limited to any specific weapon or armor. Because there are no classes, you can unlock any abilities you want and combine them with your favorite weapons and armor types. That’s all well and good, but you still need to upgrade your gear with materials to keep them effective as you get further into the game. All materials can be found while exploring, but you can also craft your basic materials into better ones if you know how.

How to craft materials in Avowed

Just like upgrading your gear, crafting will also be done while at camp. While you can break down equipment wherever you want to get more materials, you sadly cant combine them out in the field.

Step 1: Fast travel to a campsite.

Step 2: Visit the workbench and interact with it.

Step 3: Go from the Upgrade tab to the Crafting tab at the top of the screen.

Step 4: You will see a list of craftable materials on the left and what is required to make them. You can turn multiple lower-grade materials into better ones this way, making it valuable to continue grabbing them later in the game.

It costs nothing but the materials used to craft, so don’t worry about losing gold or anything else. Higher level materials do get harder to come by so crafting them will be necessary to quickly upgrade your best gear without spending a ton of time running around looking for materials.
