The Switch 2 is everything it needed to be for a technological and software standpoint. But that price should be $399, and while it’s just $50 more, it’s still in an area that Nintendo has never been before, and people died when the 3DS launched at a higher cost.
It also brings into question are we now looking at $299 / $349 for a Switch 2 lite in a year or two, and why is the original Switch still so overpriced.
My guess is they’re just going to bite the bullet and sell at a higher price since it’s going to sell out and be scalped. So once sells slow they’ll pull a 3DS and get the price to something more manageable for parents looking to buy this for their kids.
