Google’s new Pixel Weather app is stepping into the weather game with a fresh twist. Now, it’s getting even more useful for folks in the US who deal with allergies. Google’s rolling out its new pollen tracking feature inside Pixel Weather to help you dodge those bad air days before they wreck your plans.

There aren’t any frogs, but it’s still a good app

After making its first rounds overseas, the much-awaited pollen forecast is finally starting to roll out to Pixel users in the country. Google first dropped the pollen-tracking feature for Pixel Weather last October, starting in places like France, Germany, Italy, and the UK. Everyone figured it would eventually make its way to the US, but until now, Google has kept quiet about exactly when it would happen.

According to 9to5Google, the pollen tracker is starting to show up stateside through a server-side update on the latest Pixel Weather app. Even though Google’s support page doesn’t officially list the US yet, some of their Pixel phones are already spotting the new pollen card.

That said, it’s not showing up for everyone just yet. We haven’t seen the pollen card pop up on our Pixel phones either, at least not for now.

Big, bold and movable

The new pollen feature shows up as a big, pill-shaped card right at the bottom of the main city weather screen in the Pixel Weather app. Just like the Hourly forecast, 10-day forecast, and Weather map cards, the Pollen card stretches all the way across the screen from edge to edge.

If you’re in the US, the pollen card shows easy-to-read, color-coded levels for Grass, Tree, and Weed pollen, rated from zero to four. And just like the other cards in Pixel Weather, you can long-press and drag it wherever you want on the screen — handy if you’re the type who needs allergy warnings front and center before stepping outside.

When you tap on the pollen card, it opens up a three to five-day forecast for each type of pollen. You’ll also get a little note explaining which specific kind of pollen is causing the most trouble on any given day.
