Sure, Memorial Day is known for its mattress and home deals, but don’t sleep on the TV deals. If you’re in the market for an upgrade to your beloved big screen, some of the best OLED models are on sale for the holiday weekend.
For instance, Best Buy’s Memorial Day Sale has the internet-favorite LG 77-inch C4 OLED 4K TV on sale for $1,999.99. That’s 20% or $500 off its list price of $2,499.99.
It’s no surprise we’re seeing this big of a price drop on the C4 model, as the newer C5 version was just released in March. That’s why Spring is one of the best times to splurge on a TV — the old ones go on sale to make room for the new ones. While the C5 is no doubt an excellent OLED TV, CNET’s TV expert Ty Pendlebury says the C4 is still the better value. The two models are very similar, but going with the older model from 2024 will save you over a grand.
The C4 earns high honors in the image quality department. Pendlebury writes, “Its perfect black levels, unbeatable contrast, and superb off-angle viewing kept it a notch above the mini-LED models in my comparison tests, and while its overall brightness isn’t quite as impressive, it’s still an incredible performer in all kinds of room lighting.”
