Summary

  • Gemini is coming to Pixel Watch, improving the user experience and enhancing hands-free interactions.
  • Google will also make Gemini Live integrations a part of core apps.
  • Google has not established firm release dates, with Gemini on Pixel Watch coming in “months” and Gemini Live integrations coming in “weeks.”

And just like that, Google I/O 2025 has come and gone, giving us a look at what to expect from the brand going forward. And while there are plenty of interesting things that are available to tinker with now, like Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1 with Material 3 Expressive, there are also many small things that will trickle out to the public over the next year.

Today, Google has shared some information about Gemini on the Pixel Watch and also Gemini Live integration coming to important Google apps and services. This was highlighted in an email sent out to Pixel owners, which was shared by the folks at 9to5Google. While it’s good to get excited about new things, the brand didn’t share exactly when these new features would drop, only providing a vague timeline for the moment.

Something to look forward to

The Pixel Watch has grown to become one of the best smartwatches on the market, featuring a unique style and powerful features. Of course, battery life is always a concern, which means limiting what the watch can do, and how active it is during its time on a user’s wrist. But one of the big things that can really improve the experience is getting Gemini on Pixel Watch.

By allowing users to interact with Gemini, it provides a new layer that could greatly improve the hands-free experience. Right now, Google Assistant is doing all the heavy lifting, but the clear future is with Gemini. Of course, while exciting, this isn’t something that’s arriving ASAP, and is said to be in the pipeline, set to arrive in the “coming months.”

If we had to take a guess, this is something that should make an appearance with the debut of Wear OS 6, or when a new model of the Pixel Watch arrives. Of course, we haven’t heard anything about the latter at this time, but we’re hoping to see something materialize this year.

In addition to the above, Gemini Live integration is going to start finding its way into more apps and services by Google in the coming weeks. 9to5Google notes that users will be able to make Calendar events, Google Tasks, and notations in Google Keep using Gemini Live. Furthermore, users will be able to access details about Google Maps as well.

For the most part, there’s just a lot to look forward to if you’re someone that’s invested in Google’s ecosystem. While software isn’t all that exciting for most, it’s a big part of why Google’s devices are different from other competitors. Although there hasn’t been any official word, we do expect there to be new Pixel hardware from Google that will make its debut towards the end of the year.
