PlayStation 5 Pro is $50 off for Days of Play 2025

SAVE $50: The PlayStation 5 Pro usually retails for $699.99, but Amazon has it on sale for $649 as of May 28. That’s its best deal since launch.

The most powerful PlayStation console has fallen to its lowest price yet during Sony’s 2025 Days of Play sale. That’s not saying much — it’s still $50 more than a 1TB Xbox Series X post-tariffs. But this is a rare deal to see outside of Cyber Weekend, when PlayStations typically fall to their year-round lows, and a welcome respite from its “brutal” MSRP.

Amazon has the PS5 Pro marked down to $649 (normally $699.99), beating its current sale price via PlayStation Direct by a sneaky 99 cents. The deal should be live through June 11 at 11:59 p.m. local time, when Days of Play is scheduled to end.

Released in November 2024, or four years after the $499.99 standard PS5, the PS5 Pro is a beast of a console for deep-pocketed gamers who want their favorite titles to look and run as good as possible. (It’s definitely more a “because I can”-type splurge than a necessary next-gen upgrade.) Here’s how it’s different from its predecessor:

  • Its GPU is faster, so gameplay is smoother

  • It supports PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (aka AI-driven upscaling), so games look sharper at higher frame rates

  • It has better ray tracing technology, so lighting and reflections look more realistic

  • It supports WiFi 7, the latest wireless tech

  • It has 2TB of storage (double that of the regular PS5)

  • It does not have a built-in disc drive — that’s sold separately for $79.99

It’s also worth noting that only 55 games have been “enhanced” to take full advantage of the PS5 Pro’s upgrades.
