As a new generation of creators prepares for VidCon 2025, the annual convention for internet personalities and their fans, VidCon is honoring a group of YouTube pioneers.

On Thursday, June 19, VidCon will induct its first-ever Hall of Fame class as part of the conference’s opening ceremony.

VidCon’s first Hall of Fame class includes creators and entrepreneurs who began their careers on YouTube and paved the way for future generations. The 2025 inductees include Hank Green, co-founder of VidCon and half of the Vlogbrothers channel; Rhett & Link, hosts of Good Mythical Morning and founders of Mythical Entertainment; Grace Helbig; Tyler Oakley; Joey Graceffa; Rosanna Pansino; and Smosh co-founders Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox.

The Hall of Fame class will be inducted during VidCon’s opening celebration on June 19 at 7 p.m. PT on VidCon’s Mainstage.

Mashable Trend Report

Established in 2010, VidCon first launched as the epicenter of creators and fans meeting IRL. It was co-founded by the Vlogbrothers, Hank and John Green, before being sold to Viacom in 2018. Informa acquired it in 2024, and it is still run by Informa today. In 2010, VidCon hosted 1,400 attendees, and by 2024, the conference had grown to 55,000 attendees.

“VidCon has always been the premier event celebrating all aspects of the creator economy,” says Sarah Tortoreti, Vice President of VidCon. “By introducing a way to honor these iconic creators in our new ‘VidCon Hall of Fame,’ we are recognizing their contribution to the evolution of digital culture and their instrumental impact on pop culture and fandom.”

The Hall of Famers have over 83 million followers combined and are considered pioneers of content creation. These inductees have been posting for nearly as long as YouTube has been around, with Smosh founding their channel just months after YouTube’s creation in 2005.

YouTube turns 20 this year, and on Friday, June 20, at 3 p.m. PT, the company will hold its annual keynote with this year’s presentation celebrating its hallmark anniversary.
