The free Switch 2 upgrade gets you HDR support and other graphical improvements, which is great if you’re looking to experience the game for the first time or play through it again.
Mashable’s Adam Rosenberg praised this adventure, which is technically two games in one, as a “reissue of an excellent game that never got the love it deserved”. It’s a re-release of a title that originally debuted on the Wii U with added content in the form of Bowser’s Fury, an open world adventure that combines Mario action with fun, cat-themed island that you can explore as the popular plumber and his friends.

“Bowser’s Fury is something truly different, and all the more special for it,” Rosenberg wrote. “It’s a Mario that is both immediately familiar to pick up and play but also maybe a bit unapproachable and high learning curve-y at first as you work to understand how all these new concepts weave into the familiar.
