Leak suggests Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 may be impressively slim

Samsung is just days away from unveiling the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. Over the last few days, several leaks have showcased Samsung’s upcoming foldables from all possible angles and detailed their key specs. Samsung itself has already revealed that the Z Fold 7 will be its thinnest and lightest foldable ever. But exactly how thin? A new leak answers that question today.

According to Chinese leaker Setsuna Digital on Weibo, the Z Fold 7 will measure only 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when unfolded. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 measures 12.1mm thick when folded and 5.6mm in an unfolded state.

So, if the leaked numbers are accurate, Samsung will make its foldable 3.2mm thinner in just one generation. This would bring the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in line with its recent competitors like the Oppo Find N5 and Vivo X Fold 5, making it one of the slimmest foldables in the world. And at least in the US, it should be the thinnest foldable to go on sale.

Even better, the upcoming Galaxy foldable will apparently only weigh 215g — 24g lighter than the Z Fold 6 and even 3g lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This is despite the foldable coming with a supposedly larger 6.5-inch external cover screen and an 8-inch inner display.

The leaker further claims the Z Fold 7 will feature a “glass ceramic back panel [translated],” a Snapdragon 8 Elite ‘for Galaxy’ chip, a 10MP front camera with a 100-degree field of view, and a 200MP main rear camera.

Even the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will impress with its thin profile

As for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, it will also purportedly be slimmer than its predecessor, measuring 13.7mm when folded and 6.5mm when unfolded. That’s noticeably thinner than the Z Flip 6, which measures 14.9mm when folded and 6.9mm when unfolded. Despite the slimmer dimensions, the leak states the Flip 7 will sport a larger 4,300mAh cell — 300mAh more than the Flip 6.

The flip foldable will supposedly sport a bigger 4.1-inch cover display with only a 1.25mm black border surrounding it. Even the internal screen will get a bump in size to 6.9-inches and switch to a 21:9 aspect ratio. Both displays will feature a 120Hz refresh rate and can hit 2,600 nits of peak brightness.

Samsung will officially take the wraps off the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and several other Galaxy devices on July 9, 2025. So, we won’t have to wait long to know more about these devices.
