Samsung’s latest foldable takes some cues from the Galaxy S24 Ultra, with a boxier design and an all-matte finish. It features a slightly wider cover display for a more comfortable typing experience, as well as new Galaxy AI features and an upgraded ultra-wide camera.
Amazon Prime Day is upon us, and from Tuesday, July 8th to Friday, July 11th, you’ll see plenty of opportunities to save big on smartphones you’ve been eyeing all year long. Amazon has several Samsung deals available, offering significant discounts on flagship devices. During Prime Day, you can pick up a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 for only $1,150 — almost 40% off its initial MSRP.
I know the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be announced within days, but that device will cost close to $2,000 for the next few months. If you’ve been curious about folding phones but don’t love the price tag, Amazon Prime Day is an excellent chance to score one for about what you’d pay for a traditional flagship phone.
Why you should buy a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6
Folding phones aren’t for everyone, and I’ve often questioned the appeal of larger, book-style foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 6. However, my reservations are rooted in the high price — I don’t see the benefits adding up to the extra money we pay. Amazon Prime Day solves that problem, and I highly recommend picking up a Galaxy Z Fold 6 for only $1,150 if you’ve been curious about the form factor.
All in all, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 remains a fantastic flagship device. The external screen isn’t as spacious as those of other foldables from overseas, but I can still comfortably type on it. When unfolded, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 provides me with ample screen real estate for multitasking or enjoying a more expansive experience on my favorite apps.

A real tortoise-and-hare situation
Under the hood, I have no complaints about the Galaxy Z Fold 6, as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a powerful chipset that still chews through anything I throw at it. Paired with 12GB of RAM, you can expect smooth performance on your Z Fold 6 for years to come.
One UI 7 runs well on the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Samsung promises six more years of software support. Samsung teased Galaxy AI enhancements as a way to improve the user experience on folding phones, and I’m looking forward to those features making their way to the Z Fold 6. I wouldn’t recommend spending big money on a folding phone, but for $1,150, I’d consider picking up the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
