Best Prime Day espresso maker deal: Save 20% on the Wacaco Picopresso at Amazon

As much as I hate to admit this, I’m a coffee snob. For starters, I live in Seattle — home to the first Starbucks. Seattle also has the (kinda true) stereotype that all we do is hang out in cafes while it rains year-round. I also worked as a barista for over 10 years, which really honed in on my inability to drink crappy coffee. And one of the things I absolutely hate is walking into an Airbnb to find a coffee pod machine for which the host has supplied just three pods for several people on a multi-night stay. I don’t deal with this anymore though, because I travel with a super portable espresso machine that happens to be on sale during Prime Day.

As of July 10, the Wacaco Picopresso portable espresso maker bundle is on sale at Amazon for $103.92, marked down from the standard price of $129.90. That’s a 20% discount that takes $25.98 off the rarely-discounted Picopresso.

It’s truly an honor to earn a place in my travel bag. I travel with carry-on only, and I keep my bag as light as possible. We’re talking under 20 pounds. But I refuse to travel without the Wacaco Picopresso because it makes vacation just that much more enjoyable. In all honestly, I use my Picopresso several times each week even while I’m at home, preferring it over my countertop espresso machine.

Instead of relying on a machine to build up pressure and extract a perfect espresso shot with wonderful crema, the Picopresso relies on your own manpower. Load up your freshy ground coffee into the basket, place the showerhead over it, screw it all into body of the Picopresso, pour hot water into the top chamber, and you’re on your way to delightful espresso.

The Picopresso truly shines when it comes to portability. For starters, it weighs just 0.77 pounds. All of the pieces fit together perfectly into the included protective case in a delightfully satisfying Tetris way. Overall dimensions are also travel friendly. I also love grocery shopping in my travel destinations, so picking up some local coffee beans to use the next morning in my Picopresso has become a new highlight.

Using the Picopresso does come with a learning curve, I won’t lie. But once you get it down, you’ll be making perfect espresso on every trip. That means you can pack this along to the hotel room, your next Airbnb, the campground, or a music festival. Aside from your own manpower, the Picopresso only requires ground coffee and hot water.

While it’s on sale for 20% off, grab the super portable Wacaco Picopresso and upgrade your travel coffee game. Not only is it on sale for Prime Day, it’s actually in stock at Amazon which is something that’s not often true.
