Following what seemed like an eternity of leaks and rumors, Samsung took the wraps off the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Z Flip 7 yesterday, accompanied by the Fan Edition Z Flip 7. As is the norm in the tech industry, the focus now shifts to the brand’s upcoming devices. In that spirit, a Samsung executive has now revealed the company’s plans for its Galaxy Tab S10 refresh.
In response to Android Authority’s question about the Galaxy Tab S11’s arrival, a Samsung South Africa executive told the publication that the company will launch a refresh “shortly.” Here’s the brief statement in full: “So Samsung will be announcing a (Galaxy Tab) refresh for the range coming through, shortly. In line with our traditional cadence.”
The Galaxy Tab S11 may arrive in the blink of an eye
The mention of “traditional cadence” indicates a release timeline similar to last year’s Galaxy Tab S10 models (September). If this is indeed true, we are not too far away from the 2025 edition of Samsung’s high-end slates. What lends this statement more credibility is that it comes from a company executive, albeit unnamed, rather than an anonymous source. Notably, this isn’t the first time a Samsung executive has provided new information on an upcoming device.
We’ve found that the rumor mill has been surprisingly quiet about the Galaxy Tab S11 so far, save for a couple of reports. Dutch publication GalaxyClub reported on Samsung removing the Plus variant from the Galaxy Tab S11 lineup, launching a base model and the Ultra variant instead. If true, this would indicate a significant shift in the manufacturer’s approach, given that the company only released the Galaxy Tab S10 series in Plus and Ultra trims, leaving out the base model in the process.
It’s unclear if this will impact next year’s Fan Edition tablets, which will presumably borrow some elements from their premium Galaxy Tab S11 siblings. Following the removal of the base variant from the Galaxy Tab S10 series, the company released the Galaxy Tab S10 FE earlier this year, thereby filling the void left by the removal of the base model. Something similar could happen when (or if) Samsung decides to release the Galaxy Tab S11 FE in 2026.
There’s also talk of the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra seeing a battery capacity upgrade of about 500mAh. This could be a key point of focus for Samsung, as the Ultra models in the Galaxy Tab S lineup haven’t seen a battery upgrade since their inception in 2022 with the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. If we are indeed heading closer towards the launch of the Galaxy Tab S11 series, we expect leaks and rumors to intensify in the weeks ahead.
