Despite being a big deal when it first launched, the newly updated Galaxy Watch Ultra wasn’t huge news when it was announced at Galaxy Unpacked. For the most part, it’s the same exact watch as the previous model, except that this new version features more onboard storage at 64GB, and there’s also a new color available as well.

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Ultra is great, but it’s not for everyone

A great watch, but you might prefer the Galaxy Watch 7

Now, if you have the older model, there’s probably no reason to upgrade. But if you were holding out to grab Samsung’s beefiest smartwatch, then right now’s going to be a great time to pick one up, as Amazon is offering a $100 gift card when you preorder the watch. You’ll have a few different colors to choose from, and shipments will start on July 25 when it is official released.

What’s great about the Galaxy Watch Ultra?

We loved the Galaxy Watch Ultra when we first reviewed it, but we have to admit, it’s not for everyone. The smartwatch is only available in one size at 47mm, but also delivers fantastic visuals with its large AMOLED display that can reach a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. You also get a fantastic build thanks to Samsung’s use of titanium, which makes it light and durable.

This watch also includes a hardware button that makes it easy to launch into different exercises, along with a variety of sensors that can track your health and fitness metrics. Battery life is also quite good for a Wear OS smartwatch, lasting up to two days with normal use. And the best part is that it will come with the latest software from Samsung, featuring unique features only available on the brand’s newest wearables.

It’s definitely a stand-out watch that brings a lot to the table. And since you can now grab a $100 gift card with your preorder, it’s a fantastic time to pick one up. Of course, you can always browse some of our other favorite smartwatches too.
