‘Fixed’ red band trailer: Animated dog comedy is so NSFW, you have to see it to believe it

Animation legend Genndy Tartakovsky has captivated audiences of all ages with projects like Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, the Hotel Transylvania series, and Primal. However, his upcoming film Fixed is decidedly for the older crowd.

That’s because the entire movie hinges on dog Bull (voiced by Adam DeVine) realizing his owners are about to have him neutered, separating him from the balls he loves so much. And you’d better believe that Fixed animates Bull’s testicles, along with other parts of his anatomy. Seriously, if you’ve ever yearned to see the famed “butthole cut” of 2019’s Cats, then Fixed is the movie for you.

Panicking over his upcoming castration, Bull sets out for one last big night on the town with his doggy friends Rocco (Idris Elba), Fetch (Fred Armisen), and Lucky (Bobby Moynihan). Squirrel-killing rampages and trips to dog strip clubs (yes, really) ensue. But amid all the R-rated carnage, will Bull be able to accomplish his true goal: telling neighboring dog Honey (Kathryn Hahn) that he’s in love with her?

Brazen in its crassness but still oddly sweet, Fixed was trapped in development hell for years. In 2024, it was shelved by Warner Bros. Discovery, a move the company pulled with other completed projects like Batgirl, Coyote vs. Acme, and Scoob! Holiday Haunt. That meant distribution for the project fell back on Sony Pictures Animation, which has collaborated with Netflix before on projects like The Mitchells vs. The Machines.

Fixed is now less than a month out from release after years of setbacks, and you can get a taste of its nasty madness in the trailer above.

Fixed hits Netflix Aug. 13.
