Plants vs. Zombies might not be the powerhouse IP that it once was, but for fans of the game, there are some great graphic novels out there that continue the story of this weird game series. If you’re looking for an easy way to catch up on the kid-friendly comic, the Plants vs. Zombies Zomnibus Editions are your best option. These large, hardcover graphic novels collect numerous previously released issues of the series, making it easy to read through large sections of the story. Two Zomnibus volumes have been released so far, while Plants vs. Zombies Zomnibus Volume 3 is launching on October 21, and you can preorder is now for $20 at Amazon.

$20 | Releases October 21

This Zomnibus collects Plants vs Zombies: Battle Extravagonzo, Plants vs Zombies: Lawn of Doom, and Plants vs Zombies: Greatest Show Unearthed into one 248-page collection. These stories flesh out the cartoony universe of the games with new characters and adventures to read through. The series is written by Paul Tobin, who has also worked on several Marvel series and The Witcher graphic novels for Dark Horse, among others. The series features art by Tim Lattie, Andie Tong, Ron Chan, Jacob Chabot, and Matt J. Rainwater.

Volume 1: $18.11 (was $20) | Volume 2: $16.69 (was $20)

In case you missed them, Plants vs. Zombies Zomnibus Volumes 1 and 2 are also available at Amazon. You’ll want to read these Volumes first before diving into Volume 3 later this year, as this is where the goofy adventures start. Both Volumes are 256 pages long, and include the following stories

Volume One:

  • Plants vs. Zombies: Lawnmageddon
  • Plants vs. Zombies: Timepocalypse
  • Plants vs. Zombies: Bully for You
  • Additional short stories by Dustin Nguyen, Jennifer Meyer, and Peter Bagge

Volume Two:

  • Plants vs. Zombies: Grown Sweet Home
  • Plants vs. Zombies: Petal to the Metal
  • Plants vs. Zombies: Boom Boom Mushroom
  • Additional short stories by Brian Churilla, Cat Farris, Karim Friha, Nneka Myers, Jeremy Vanhoozer, and others

If you prefer reading smaller format comics, you can grab all of the stories from the Zomnibus Editions in trad paperback editions instead, alongside all the other issues that haven’t been collected into Zomnibus editions yet.
