Samsung is finally ending the One UI 8 beta drought for the Galaxy S25 series. The last Android 16 beta firmware for the company’s current flagship dropped in late June. The fourth beta arrives exactly a month later, packing several bug fixes.

The ZYGB firmware for the Galaxy S25 is currently live in Korea, India, Germany, and eligible units in the US. Besides squashing a bunch of bugs, the 1.2GB beta build bumps the security patch to July 2025.

Bugs that have been fixed:
– Added an emergency update feature for Samsung IMS Service
– A pop-up or notification may appear to request user consent for IMS service update and restart.
– Supports full screen switching while playing videos when using DeX
– Fixed operation error of Galaxy Al Reply Suggestions
– Improved loading issue when Bixby routine commands are triggered via voice
– Improved display issue in the quick launch icon area on the lock screen
– Fixed an editing error with iNavi dashcam videos in the Gallery app
– Fixed an issue where the message ‘Fingerprint sensor not responding’ appeared on the lock screen
– Fixed outgoing call failure when attempting swipe call from the Contacts list with TalkBack enabled
– Improved flickering issue of the central vertical/ horizontal level gauge when switching from front to rear camera
– Software stability enhanced through updates to several apps

If your Galaxy S25 is enrolled in the One UI 8 beta, grab the update from Settings > Software update > Download and install.
This could likely be the last Android 16 beta build from Samsung for the Galaxy S25 series. Unless users report some major bugs, Samsung should release the stable firmware to the public in the coming days or weeks. This would be a welcome improvement, especially since the company took nearly six months to push Android 15 to the Galaxy S25 lineup after its public release.
Samsung should also expand the One UI 8 beta program to the Galaxy S24 and its previous flagships sooner rather than later.
Samsung wants to speed up the rollout of new Android builds
Like Google, Samsung has adopted the Trunk Stable model for One UI development. This should enable it to roll out OS updates significantly faster, almost in line with new Android updates from Google. The company already ships the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 with a stable build of One UI 8, making them the first devices to launch with Android 16 out of the box.
One UI 8 does not bring a radically overhauled UI like One UI 7. Instead, it builds on the latter, refining the interface of some system apps and further improving Galaxy AI.
