We’ve seen deals on Starlink before, but this is the first time we’re seeing a $250 credit for those looking to sign up for the service. The deal comes from Best Buy, with Starlink offering a $250 credit for a limited time when you purchase the Starlink Standard Kit and commit to 12 months of service.

For the most part, this isn’t a bad deal at all if you’re looking to go with a new internet service provider. The only things you want to be sure of are that Starlink is going to meet your needs and that your location is going to get good service. While it’s hard to tell about the first point, the latter point can be handled through the Starlink app.

What’s great about Starlink?

Most homes and offices have access to a variety of different internet services that come from existing cable lines, fiber, or even through 5G. However, there are places where these solutions don’t exist, which means you’ll need to find some type of alternative. That’s where Starlink comes in, utilizing satellites in order to provide fast and reliable service.

While it can be used anywhere it can pick up a connection, the most ideal scenario is going to be in a remote location, where the antenna can get a clear view of the sky. This is important because if you have anything obstructing the satellite, chances are your connection is going to suffer. Starlink is a great solution if you’re someone that’s in an area where traditional internet service isn’t available.

And while it isn’t the fastest out there, you’re going to get decent speeds that should be good enough for web browsing and streaming. Online gaming is going to be possible as well, but it will all depend on the ping rate and connection at the location. If you’re interested, Starlink recommends downloading the app in order to get an idea if your location is ideal for service.

Once that’s confirmed, you can order the product through Best Buy in order to get the promotion. The Starlink Standard Kit comes in at $350, which includes the antenna and router. This is a one-time purchase, and you will own the device. When it comes to the fine details of the promotion, just make sure you’re activating a new 12-month residential plan, and you stick with it.

Any changes and Starlink will charge a $325 fee, which is quite steep. Again, download the app to see whether your area is a good candidate for service before you make any purchases.
