Phasmophobia’s New Map Welcomes Ghost Hunters To Nell’s Diner

Players have been hunting ghosts in Phasmophobia for almost half a decade now, and developer Kinetic Games is ready to send them out to hunt on a new map called Nell’s Diner.

As the name implies, Nell’s Diner is a retro-styled restaurant that has seen some better days. For the living, there are booths and counter seating available. As for the ghosts, their plans for the kitchen are probably not going to pass a health inspection. The size of the map isn’t going to be much larger than the houses that are already in the game.

Phasmophobia’s new map is giving us some Twin Peaks vibes.

While Kinetic Games won’t release Nell’s Diner until later this year, the studio has revealed that the much-anticipated reworking of the Grafton Farmhouse map will be coming to Phasmophobia on August 12.

The new version of Grafton Farmhouse has been “totally overhauled” with “newly themed rooms” including an attic and a seamstress room. It’s even less inviting than Nell’s Diner, and it certainly seems more eerie in the accompanying screenshot.

“Nell’s Diner, alongside the Farmhouse reworks, are all so central to our efforts in amplifying the horror in Phasmophobia, and I can’t wait for our community to experience it for themselves,” said Phasmophobia lead director Daniel Knight in a statement. “Our incredible art team have worked tirelessly on the upcoming content, and the Diner map in particular is one of the most unique maps we’ve added yet. We don’t want to spoil anything, but just know there are plenty of surprises to look forward to.”

Knight has previously teased that Phasmophobia will finally get version 1.0 next year. Although Knight has been deliberately vague about the details, he’s noted, “We’re basically going to be reworking the entire horror in the game. So everything is going to be changing.” The game’s Chronicle update recently added improvements to the way players can document hauntings. A Phasmophobia movie is also in development by Blumhouse.
