We’ve been seeing Material 3 Expressive find its way to several popular apps from Google over the past few months. Not only does it bring a new look, but it also makes some apps easier to navigate. With the Made by Google event just around the corner, we’re hoping to hear and see more about Material 3 Expressive and how it will impact Android and other Google products.
Of course, we’re still seeing updates roll out to apps, like Google Contacts, which just got a refreshed look, and it now appears that the Google Find Hub app is also getting small touches of Material 3 Expressive as well. This news comes from 9to5Google, sharing details about the latest update, and while the changes are minor, it’s good to see the visual update find its way to other important apps.
The changes are so small you might not even notice

As far as specific changes go, you’re getting a smaller navigation bar on the bottom, which frees up more room for the main part of the app. The icons in the bottom bar will also look more pronounced when selected, providing a better indicator of when sections are active. You can see the change in the images, with the Device icon going from a hollow look, to being filled in white.
It’s a small change, but should make understanding the UI much simpler for those that aren’t as familiar. 9to5Google also shares that device pins will now be larger, making them easier to see even in busy locations, and that some of the buttons in the app are also being expanded or highlighted to provide better visual feedback.
You can see an example of this change, with the Play Sound button expanding along the bottom portion of the app, and the speaker icon is also being highlighted to show that it is a button as well. If you’re someone that uses the Find Hub, we recommend giving the latest version a try.
You’ll be able to see the new differences, and it could even make your life slightly easier, if you’re ever looking for things. Of course, what we’re really waiting for and are excited about is the satellite location feature slated to arrive sometime this year.
