The great thing about releasing a product in January is that you’re one of the first out of the gate, giving you a jump on the competition. However, the downside is that by the time summer arrives, consumers have all but forgotten about what you’re offering, especially when you haven’t been heavily pushing ads and the competition is releasing compelling devices throughout the year.
Despite the OnePlus 13 being an excellent device that we loved, we don’t hear too much about it nowadays. The good news is that OnePlus is preparing a brand-new phone, the OnePlus 15, if rumors are to be believed. While we haven’t heard all that much about the phone, we have heard that it could look quite different, and we’re now getting news it could have a impressive screen as well.
Could this become the top phone of 2026?
For the most part, OnePlus has a pretty good thing going, offering impressive devices at prices better than its rivals’ competing products. The OnePlus 13 is a stand-out device, and we hope that the brand continues this trend in the future, offering better products for less money. Of course, we’d still like a dash of innovation or something that sets it apart too though.
Well, it looks like in its next release, we could be seeing the refresh rate of the screen of the OnePlus 15 jump up to 165Hz, which is going to be more than some people’s gaming monitors. The news comes from Weibo from a well-known leaker, Digital Chat Station, who has been reliable in the past regarding unreleased information (via GSMArena).
From the machine translation, the Weibo post shares that OnePlus is currently experimenting with a 1.5K screen, and that this new refresh rate will be great for gaming and other applications. It’s important to note that this won’t be a first on smartphones, as we’ve seen plenty of high refresh-rate phones in the past, like the Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro and similar devices.
In addition to the above, the new phone from OnePlus could arrive with the latest Qualcomm chip, along with a new color which is currently being dubbed Moon Rock Black. There’s a really good chance that OnePlus could do big things next year with the release of this phone, but is it going to be enough to topple the current giants in the industry like Samsung?

The OnePlus 13 is a beast of a phone. With a refreshed design, a mostly curveless display, and a massive 6,000mAh battery capable of getting you through a day without breaking a sweat, this could be the Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered smartphone to beat in 2025. And hey, it’s got a pretty great camera system, too.
