Devil May Cry Season 2 Trailer Teases The Fated Dante And Vergil Showdown

The first trailer for Devil May Cry: Season 2 has been revealed, showing off more of what fans can expect from producer and showrunner Adi Shankar’s animated take on the cult-classic Capcom games. This time, Devil May Cry is using one of the best tricks from the games, as it’s adding Dante’s brother Vergil to its anime-inspired universe. The new season will land on Netflix in 2026, and you can check out the first trailer for it below.

Devil May Cry’s first season laid the groundwork for a brewing war between humanity and the demon realm, ending with a very unsubtle parallel to the 2003 Second Gulf War. Back in June, Shankar spoke about how Season 2 will differ from the first, explaining that Dante will start to level up and evolve across this new batch of episodes.

“His skills improve and you’ll see him embrace more of the iconic badassery fans of the game expect,” Shankar said. “That said, I’m still telling a story, and great characters don’t just win–they grow. What makes Dante compelling isn’t that he’s unstoppable–it’s that he learns and keeps getting stronger.”

The new trailer hints at Dante’s growth as a character and a warrior, and after being teased at the end of the first season, it looks like Vergil will be more than ready to put his little brother’s skills to the test. The teaser also dropped a few scenes featuring Lady, the US military force DARKCOM laying waste to the demon realm, and some stylish action sequences.

If you’re looking to play the games before Devil May Cry Season 2 arrives, you can grab the first four titles at GOG titles as they were recently added to the store’s Game Preservation Program.

“By fully embracing the devil-may-care appeal of the video games, amping up the series’ irreverent tone, and making meaningful contributions to the lore of the franchise, Dante’s latest adventure makes one hell of a first impression,” we wrote in our Devil May Cry: Season 1 review.
