Cronos: The New Dawn is a sci-fi survival horror game set in an alternate history version of 1980s Poland, where a mysterious disease has broken out. Like any great survival-horror game, Cronos: The New Dawn features a number of different weapons for you to find and use. There are seven weapons total, although some of them are placed directly in the main path. Cronos: The New Dawn doesn’t allow for backtracking through previously completed areas, so this is listed in chronological order.
Beware of some mild spoilers in the text. The first four weapons are more or less handed to you, found in areas that you have to go through as part of the main story.
Sword MK-1615 (Pistol)
This is your starting weapon, given to you as soon as the game starts.
Hammer PROV-2030 (Shotgun)
The Hammer, your first shotgun, is sitting on a box while you are on your way to the Housing Project where the first jump point target is located. This comes after being introduced to the Time Oddity manipulation and using it to lift a platform (and yourself) up into the next area
Dagger PS-3713 (Pistol)
The Dagger Pistol can be found in a safe room during the Steelworks area, in the trainyard section. This comes directly before you acquire the grav boots in the area, placing it about halfway through this section.
Javelin LK-102 (Carbine)
The Javelin is found on your way to Sector-A0, the Hospital Zone. You will have to power up the door in the terminal first, and once you pass through, you will immediately be in a safe zone, where the weapon is sitting on a workbench.
Mace JER-5120 (Shotgun)
The Mace shotgun, which functions as a double-barrel, can be found in the Hospital Zone flashback, during the section where you must obtain three chemicals and mix a compound. During this sequence, you need to obtain two chalices, one from the director’s office near the heart, and one from the room with a cat in the Operation Block, and return them to the Hospital Chapel located in the safe room. For more detailed instructions, check out our Hospital Chapel puzzle guide.
Arbalest MT-1020 (Rocket Launcher)
The Arbalest, which looks like a sniper rifle but functions more like a rocket launcher, can be found in the tram station while preparing to go to the Church Abbey, after the hospital sequence. On your way to the second of two generators, you will enter a small plaza with a Christmas tree. There are two doors here; one is a locked door leading into a toy shop, the other leading you into a safe room, where you can see a white cat on the other side of the glass. The cat has the Toy Shop key, so you need to reach them. You will need the bolt cutters.
From the safe room, head left when looking at the cat in the window, which will lead to a hallway. One path is the way to progress the story; another is a chained door. Open the door, and head through here. There are a bunch of enemies, but continue forward until you reach a room where you must connect a power generator. Connect the generator, and it will open the shop in the center of the connecting areas. Inside, there is a small hole in the back wall that can be entered by breaking some boards. Head through there to reach India, who has the toy store key. Head back to that first plaza and enter the toy store, to find the Arbalest sitting on a display in the middle of the toy shop.
Lance REV-1411 (Carbine)
In the Church Abbey area, after obtaining the key to the old cemetery, head through the locked gate on the far end of the abbey area, where the Church Door puzzle is located. You will need bolt cutters. Just through the gate, you will see a chained up small mausoleum directly in front of you. Head inside and slip through a small opening directly to your right upon entering, where you can find Freya the cat. Freya will give you a key to the director’s office.
The director’s office is located near the safe room, so head back the way you came. There are a handful of doors accessible from outside the church, but at this point, there is only one locked door. Head inside to find the key to the bell tower. Head inside the safe room and go up the staircase there to find the locked bell tower. Inside, you can find the Lance.
