The answers to today’s Strands, game #559, are…

  • EXPECTATIONS
  • APES
  • PLAINS
  • LAKES
  • AUNTS
  • MINDS
  • SPANGRAM: THEYRE GREAT

  • My rating: Easy
  • My score: Perfect

I know it’s impossible in the Strands format, but the missing apostrophe in THEYRE GREAT is all kinds of wrong and not at all great.

After finding EXPECTATIONS early – thanks to the X – and APES (thanks to it being in a corner), I was clear that we were looking for “Great” things.

However, there were a few surprises among the selections; AUNTS made the cut, and PLAINS too – but where was Britain?

I’m sure owners of Great Danes are similarly peeved!
