The boost meter definitely resembles burnout, but I need to see more. What made burnout so great was not only the ability to wreck cars but also the music and progression as well.
The dream game would be to combine elements of Split Second with Burnout, where you can take down opponents and progress like in Burnout and use the boost meter for nitro or to trigger stage altering events like in split second. That would be the perfect arcade racer.
