Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, S23 FE, and Tab S10+ now getting stable One UI 8

Hot on the heels of the Galaxy S23’s stable One UI 8 rollout in Korea, Samsung is now bringing the update to more of its devices. The Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, S23 FE, and even the Tab S10+ are all getting a taste of stable Android 16. The company seems to be rapidly expanding One UI 8’s availability to more regions and Galaxy devices, significantly ahead of its promised timeline.

On the Z Flip 5, One UI 8 will enable using Gemini Live directly through the FlexWindow — a feature that debuted on the Z Flip 7 (via @tarunvats33).

As for the S23 FE and Tab S10+, their 3.4GB+ Android 16 build is live for everyone in Samsung’s home country. That makes the Tab S10+ the first non-Pixel Android tablet to get the Android 16 update. The Tab S10 Ultra’s One UI 8 firmware is yet to go live, but it should join the party sooner rather than later.

According to Samsung’s own timeline, these devices were scheduled to get the One UI 8 update in October. But the company has released the build a few days early. Still, depending on your region, you may have to wait until October for it to arrive.

One UI 8 focuses on small but meaningful refinements

One UI 8 is a relatively modest step up from One UI 7, focusing less on flashy features and more on stability. Most of the changes come from Android 16’s under-the-hood improvements, along with a handful of design tweaks and quality-of-life refinements.

Samsung is already working on One UI 8.5, which, if leaks are accurate, will be a much bigger update. It will supposedly introduce Liquid Glass–inspired design elements, a more customizable Quick Settings panel, a revamped Gallery app, and more.
