Samsung’s update screen gets a makeover in One UI 8.5 that you can show off

Samsung is currently in the process of rolling out the One UI 8 update to its eligible Galaxy devices. In addition to that, the South Korean giant is also working on the next release, which is believed to be the One UI 8.5 update.

Based on what we’ve seen so far in leaked internal builds, One UI 8.5 will be a big update with several new features and notable visual changes. On top of those, the One UI 8.5 will also include another change in the form of a redesigned update screen page. Now, what’s even more exciting is that you can get a taste of it on your phone, even without trying the One UI 8.5.

Samsung’s One UI 8.5 update screen has a gradient background

X user @SandeepAdap first spotted the gradient background on the Download and install screen in One UI 8.5. While this design is common, it still feels refreshing to have the new background on the update screen page.

However, the background appears when an update shows up on your phone. Even if it does always show up on the update screen, it isn’t a smart move to navigate to Software update to see the gradient background. This is where @thatjoshguy69‘s graphic design skills came in handy.

The graphic designer made the gradient more useful for smartphone users by making it a downloadable wallpaper (via SammyGuru). The background is available for download at 1080×1080 resolution. Unfortunately, that’s the only resolution that you can get, and since it’s a square resolution and smartphones are rectangular, it may not look perfect on your home screen.

However, if your phone’s resolution is on the lower side, it’ll certainly look better than on a phone with a 2K display. You can download the gradient background here from Quick Share.

It’s also worth noting that the file might disappear in a few hours, so don’t delay the download if you like the wallpaper. If you can’t get it from the Quick Share link, you can also download the image from the attachment above.
