A little over one week after Samsung’s One UI 8 update started landing on the 2023-released S23 FE in international markets, the Android 16-based update is now starting to hit the Fan Edition device in the US.
The development was first highlighted by the folks over at SammyGuru, suggesting that the rollout is currently limited to carrier-locked S23 FE units across select networks. Coming in at roughly 3GB, the update carries the firmware version S711USQU6EYIF, and should expand to all S23 FE units in the nation in the coming days, bringing enhanced AI capabilities, improved multitasking, enhanced security, and a lot more.
To check whether the update has rolled out to your S23 FE, head to your phone’s Settings > Software update and then Download and install if available.
For what it’s worth, I own a Galaxy S23 FE, and the update hasn’t rolled out to me just yet.
One UI 8 for Galaxy Watch expands
Similarly, the update train is chugging along for wearables too. The South Korean tech giant’s 2024-released Galaxy Watch 7, which started gaining Wear OS 6 in Korea earlier this week, is now also starting to show signs of the new OS’ rollout in the US, as confirmed by the folks over at SamMobile.
According to the report, the One UI 8 for Watch update is currently live for Watch 7 devices on Verizon’s network, and should start rolling out to other locked and unlocked variants in the coming days. It is roughly 2GB in size and brings the September 2025 security patch with it.
To check whether the update is available on your Galaxy Watch 7, head to the Galaxy Wearable app on your connected smartphone > Watch settings > Watch software update.
