AT&T is once again hiking up your internet bill

October 17, 2025

There’s been a lot of great moments in tech this year, but overall, it’s been a pretty rough one too, with plenty of brands delivering price hikes for products and services. Well, we hate to be the one to break it to you, but if you’re an AT&T home internet customer, the brand is raising its internet prices by $5/month starting on December 1, 2025.

Now, what makes this a brutal piece of news is that AT&T already increased its prices by $5/month last year, according to The Verge. The news outlet even states that AT&T increased prices by $5 in 2023 for some customers as well. Of course, you’ll want to check your inbox in order to confirm the price change, as AT&T is sending out emails letting its customers know.

Prepare your wallet

So, if you’re a current AT&T customer, you might be asking yourself, why? Well, according to AT&T, “operational costs” have made it necessary to increase the price of its plans in order to maintain the service. AT&T also highlights in a statement that those affected may want to check out the AutoPay and Paperless Billing options in order to score a worthwhile discounts on their bill.

As you can imagine, this comes as a pretty big shock, but the good news is that if you’re looking to change, there might be some viable options. If you look at AT&T’s competitors, they also offer home internet plans, and depending on your needs, the prices could be much lower. T-Mobile and Verizon both offer fiber home internet plans, and they also offer 5G home internet plans as well.

If you’re willing to go with the latter option, Mint Mobile just threw its hat into the ring with monthly plans starting as low as $30/month. However, the bottom line here is that rising prices is a pretty big deal, with the effect being felt across a variety of different products and services. We don’t have any doubt that this trend will continue into the future, so we’ll just have to strap in and hold on.
