It’s been a long time coming, but Google’s Pixel devices are finally picking up some steam, offering one of the best hardware and software experiences you can get right now. The Pixel 10 series makes it clear that Google has finally hit its stride, and that the best is yet to come.
Naturally, it’s still going to have to work hard in order to set itself apart from competitors, but it looks like Google might have an ace up its sleeve thanks to its Superfans program. According to Bloomberg, the brand is looking to recruit 15 Superfans in order to test an upcoming device and provide feedback.
A big opportunity to shape Pixel’s future
While we know that the brand tests its products internally and often provides review units to the press and influencers ahead of a major release, it’s a bit rarer to have the general public get their hands on products in this manner. But, it looks like Google is pulling out all the stops in order to take a different approach.
And this approach makes sense considering that die-hard fans are going to be the most critical. According to the news outlet, those selected will get a chance to test out future Pixel products. This also includes the phone, but can also mean access to tablets, smartwatches, and audio devices under the Pixel name.
Those that are selected will be under a strict NDA, and will also have to use a device in order to “provide feedback and help shape a Pixel phone currently in development.” Since this is going to a selection process, you’re going to want to have some in-depth knowledge about Google and its Pixel products in order to better your chances.
If you’re a Pixel Superfan, we recommend keeping an eye out in your inbox in order to see if you’re invited to participate. And if you’ve never heard of Pixel Superfans before, you might want to get yourself registered. Those that are registered get invitations to special events, Q&A sessions, and access to exclusive discounts.
More importantly, it’s a place to connect with other Pixel fans, and gain access to information about Pixel devices direct from the brand and the team working on it. The form to sign-up is pretty in-depth, so put aside some time to answer all the questions. And while we probably won’t hear much about this ever again, it’ll be interesting if we can find out what device those selected will be able to test.
