The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is picky and doesn’t work with all chargers

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is the most expensive device you can buy in Google’s current lineup, and for what it’s worth, we really like the phone. However, just because you’re paying $,1799, that doesn’t mean you’re going to get the perfect experience, because that would simply be just too much to ask for at this price, right?

Apparently, a lot of users are finding that out for themselves, as the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is apparently pretty picky when it comes to chargers. Users online have chimed in, sharing stories about a mystery question mark icon that comes up when using a charger with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

Not a good look

Luckily, Google has now chimed in, sharing news about what’s going on with Android Authority, indicating that the problem comes up when “using an incompatible wireless charger.” Google also suggests that users charge the Pixel 10 Pro Fold with “certified Qi2 wireless chargers.”

In addition, the company states that this problem should be fixed with a new software update that will go live in the future. As far as what you can do now, Google suggests just rebooting your phone and the question mark icon next to the battery marker should go away.

However, if you charge it using the same device, the problem could return. Naturally, if you’re still seeing the problem come up, as stated above, try using a different charger. In the past, when this type of indicator came up, it signaled that the battery on the phone had an issue.

Naturally, we can see why this type of indicator on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold would cause such a stir, considering that the batteries on past Pixel phones have recently started to fail, requiring Google to take action with out-of-warranty repairs and replacements.

Let’s hope that this isn’t an early indicator of what’s to come, since we’ve seen a wave of Pixel phones that need battery replacements over the past year. Again, just be patient for now, and hope that the upcoming software update will arrive soon.
