T-Mobile is taking away a major perk from some users

November 4, 2025

T-Mobile not only delivers when it comes to its network, but it also offers a wide range of perks for subscribers. In fact, there are so many perks available that it’s really hard to keep track of what’s what at this point. In addition to its weekly giveaways on Tuesday, the carrier also offers free subscriptions to Apple TV, Hulu, and Netflix.

The brand also throws in a free DashPass subscription, which will get you free deliveries from DoorDash. Naturally, there are requirements for each perk, with the big one requiring you to maintain service with T-Mobile. Furthermore, not all perks are free forever, with some needed reregistration in order to avoid paying a fee to keep it.

Something to be concerned about

With that said, Android Authority is now reporting that some folks using T-Mobile are seeing an SMS that informs them that their DoorDash perk will no longer be available for free. As you can imagine, this is quite alarming if you’re a frequent user of the perk, but it’s also a message you don’t want to see, since this could mean additional fees you have to pay if it’s not taken care of.

Now, the interesting part here is that most people chiming in on Reddit are sharing that they have not made any changes to their plans. But there are others that share that they have made changes, had a temp line at some point, or even canceled a line. So, it’s really hard to see what exactly is going on here.

But when it comes to the message, it basically states that in order to be eligible for free DashPass services, you need to be on a line of service that qualifies. If you aren’t, T-Mobile can cancel the perk immediately, or require you to pay for the service, which comes out to be $96/year.

If you’re in this situation, it’s probably a good idea to call T-Mobile or to use the T-Life app to see what’s going on with your account. You’ll want to sort out any issues before you’re charged for the perk. We can’t say for sure, but this is most likely going to be some technical error on T-Mobile’s end.

But there is always the chance that they changed the promotion, which now has stricter requirements. If you’re a T-Mobile subscriber and have seen this message, let us know in the comments. We’ve reached out to T-Mobile to see if we can get some answers.
