Fortnite Chapter 7: Start Date, New Map, And Everything We Know So Far

Simpsons season is the talk of the Fortnite town right now, but this crossover event is only gonna last four weeks. Before we know it, Epic’s metaverse will be moving on to something else. And that something is Chapter 7, which will introduce a new season of battle royale with an entirely new map and a loot pool full of weapons we’ve never seen before.

The start of a new chapter is the biggest happening in Fortnite each year, and there’s no reason to expect it to be any different this year. Let’s take a look at what we know so far, which is actually more than usual this far out.

When will Fortnite Chapter 7 begin?

Chapter 7 is currently scheduled to begin on the evening of November 29, which is a Saturday.

Will Chapter 6/Simpsons season have a live finale event?

It definitely will. Immediately after the previous live event on November 1 that introduced the Simpsons takeover, Fortnite tweeted a brief tease for an “End of Chapter event” on November 29. We don’t know exactly what it will entail, but it’ll at least show us the end of the story of whatever it is Homer is doing with the Zero Point shard.

Will Fortnite Chapter 7 have a new theme?

While the leaks and teases have been pretty vague so far, there have actually been enough of them to feel pretty confident about some of the broad strokes. Word is that the Chapter 7 map will begin with a distinctive Los Angeles flavor and will have a desert biome. Even better, a pile of movie-related collabs are expected in the new season, including Harry Potter, Kill Bill, and James Bond.

Meanwhile, the teases keep referring to Chapter 7 as “Chapter Seven” with the number spelled out, a stylistic choice that Fortnite has never made before. This has led to rampant speculation that Chapter 7 will mark the return of The Seven, those Avengers-looking characters who haven’t been seen since most of them were eaten by Chrome and Brie Larson’s character blew herself up at the end of Chapter 3.

Epic co-founder and VP Mark Rein fanned those flames on November 7 when he tweeted this:

You people are just imagining things. Let’s take a big breath, count to 10 and let it go. Here we go: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, SEVEN, 8, 9, 10. Do we feel better now? Relaxation is the key! https://t.co/N9e52rUtwD

So it’s looking a lot like Fortnite’s old storyline will be coming back in some way in Chapter 7.

New collabs in Fortnite Chapter 7

A number of different collaborations have already been rumored for the upcoming season: Harry Potter, SpongeBob SquarePants, James Bond, Kill Bill, and another wave of KPop Demon Hunters stuff.

The Bride from Kill Bill, played by Uma Thurman, is expected to appear on the Chapter 7 Season 1 battle pass

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 Battle Pass

Of all the collabs mentioned above as expected or rumored for Chapter 7, only Kill Bill has been teased directly by Epic so far. That makes The Bride, played in the films by Uma Thurman, as the prime candidate to pop up in the battle pass.

If Chapter 7 is indeed bringing back The Seven, then you can expect one or more members of that group to appear on the battle pass as well–those characters were a common sight on battle passes during Fortnite’s first three chapters.

Fortnite Festival in Chapter 7

While its player numbers haven’t been all that great lately, Festival is the only additional Fortnite mode that is starting a new season on the same day that Chapter 7 Season 1 begins, which could mean that the upcoming season of Fortnite Festival will be significant. In fact, there’s already been reason to expect that. Over the past year, Harmonix has been slowly adding karaoke-style vocal track charts, like Rock Band had, to many existing songs in the files–though these charts are not yet playable–and peripheral maker CRKD just announced a new rhythm game drum kit that many fans expect will work with Festival. Perhaps this will be the start of Festival’s Chapter 2.

Despite the fact that the circumstantial evidence looks pretty solid for a major Festival update when Chapter 7 launches, there haven’t been any specific leaks about Fortnite Festival Season 11 yet.

We’ll continue to update this space as we learn more about Fortnite Chapter 7, or, uh, Seven, seemingly.
