I’m sure it has nothing to do with AAA games going up in price by a large margin, the qulaity of those games not matching the price that publishers are demanding we pay or those games often releasing unfinished with additional micro transactions bolted on and the method of turning “single player” games into a GaS service…
Quite frankly I wouldn’t pay £30 for Black Ops 7 but they expect us to pay £70 for the base version and the same sentiment is extended for games that are considered actaully good by the players. For example I really enjoyed the Battlefield 6 beta and I was intending to pick it up but I saw it was £60 (on steam) and I decided against it.
I find it harder to justify spending that much money on a game these days and if I do take the leap and buy a game at release for full price I will make sure that I squeeze as much as I can from it.
