Take an early peek at Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy 4 earbuds

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds should be getting a refresh sometime in the near future if the leaks we have seen are to be believed. While Samsung has remained pretty quiet on this front, users have been able to extract information about the brand’s upcoming audio products through its One UI 8.5 update.

While it appeared that the Galaxy Buds 4 would be a tamer update, we’re now getting new visuals from Android Authority that show off the earbuds in more detail. If these new images are accurate, the overall design will be pretty similar to the previous model, but there are some notable refinements that make it look like a much sharper product.

Sleek and more refined

The news outlet was able to dig up some images of the upcoming earbuds, giving us a clearer look at what to expect. The images show off two different colors of the earbuds, with one coming in light, and the other coming in dark. As far as major changes from the previous mode, it ditches the cheap-looking plastic stem and, in exchange, we get something that looks like brushed aluminum.

There is a pretty good chance that this is all still going to be just plastic, but at least visually it will appear more elevated and mature. There’s also a more prominent mesh grill on the exterior of the earbuds, similar to what we find on Apple’s popular AirPods. This is most likely where the microphones will be positioned, and are used to deliver active noise cancellation.

Apple’s latest earbuds were able to improve on its predecessor, delivering better sound and ANC, so we think that Samsung will also be able to do the same. The images shared by Android Authority also show a comparison between the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds Pro 4. For the most part, they look quite similar, with the main difference being the Pro models have a silicone eartip attached to the hardware.

If that wasn’t enough, the new earbuds could also arrive with gesture support. Although, the news outlet wasn’t quite ready to spill all the details quite yet. We’ve seen this before though from competitors, so Samsung will most likely allow users to take action on incoming calls and notifications just by nodding or shaking their head.

Of course, the biggest question we have is when will these arrive to retail? We’re pretty much at the tail end of the year without any announcements. In addition, we were expecting a new foldable to debut as well, but have yet to see that either. Well, we still have a few more weeks left in the year, so there’s still hope for new Samsung accessories in 2025.
