There aren’t very many holiday-themed video games to go around. Sure, you can find some apps here and there. Probably some seek-and-find time-wasters. But as for actual holiday games, they’re few and far between. We’ve found one the whole family to enjoy, and it’s not a generic asset flip: The Grinch Christmas Adventures, a kid-friendly and safe Nintendo Switch pick anyone can enjoy.

This Switch game puts you in the shoes of the Grinch himself as you explore Whoville. That includes locations like the village itself, the Town Hall, the Grinch caves, lakes, and sewers (because of course there’s a sewer area). Using the Grinch’s skills you can get around by snowboarding, using a jetpack, sleigh, and all manner of vehicles, made even easier by enlisting adorable pup sidekick Max’s help.
You’ll collect food and presents, keep an eye out for collectibles to Grinch away, and fight off enemies as you work to complete the Grinch’s Christmas mission. Of course, you’ll also be doing the important task of helping his heart to grow three sizes while helping the Whos of Whoville prepare a festive holiday feast.
