I’m not entirely sure what Microsoft’s plan is for the next generation—whether that’s Windows, consoles, or more. That said, I really like the direction they’ve taken with the Xbox experience on my ROG Ally. It feels great when docked to my 3080 and paired with an Xbox controller.
The big question is where Microsoft goes from here and how they position it in the market. I still have Game Pass, but I’m struggling to find time for story-driven games. These days, I’m much more into quick, pick-up-and-play sessions to switch off for a bit. Story-heavy titles just don’t hold my attention anymore, and honestly, I’ve had this issue since last gen.
My favourite console was the Wii U, and I think that’s because so many of its games let me jump in and out easily—even after weeks away. With games like Gears or Halo, I find it hard to get back into them after a break.
Gaming is definitely going through an interesting shift right now, and I’m curious to see where Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft take things next.
