One UI 8.5 internal testing goes live for a long list of Galaxy devices

December 25, 2025

Samsung’s Android 16 QPR2-based One UI 8.5 started rolling out in beta earlier this month. Currently limited to the Galaxy S25 series, the new beta is also limited to a few countries only.

We expect One UI 8.5 to be rolled out in stable with the release of the Galaxy S26 series next year, with it subsequently making its way to older Samsung devices. Although Samsung hasn’t offered a concrete (or rough) timeline for when that might happen, the sheer number of internal test builds appearing on Samsung’s servers (via SammyGuru) suggests that the South Korean tech giant might be planning to expedite the rollout.

It’s worth noting that M and F series devices are currently missing from the test servers, but they will likely make their way over soon, considering almost all devices that got One UI 8 will get One UI 8.5 as well.

If you’re in a hurry to try out the new beta, and don’t own the Galaxy S25 series, your best bet is to wait until early 2026. If you do own a S25 series device, you can easily hop on the beta through the Samsung Members app if you’re in South Korea, Germany, Poland, India, the US, and the UK.
