The Google TV Streamer just got more tempting thanks to its new lower price

The Google TV Streamer is a strong option if you’re looking to get Google TV into your home. You get a sleek design, powerful hardware, easy access to all your favorite streaming services, and great features.

And if you want, you can even game on it by utilizing various game streaming services or downloading games from the Play Store. And while it was okay at its usual retail price of $100, it’s now even better thanks to a nice discount that drops to $80.

What’s great about the Google TV Streamer?

Well, in our review, we really liked that the Google TV Streamer was snappy and offered excellent visuals. In addition, the remote control was easy to use, and the Streamer has support for Matter. The latter will give you control of compatible and connected smart home products. We recently experimented with this feature by controlling the lights around the house.

When it comes to the hardware, you’re looking at a MediaTek processor that’s paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The Streamer also features Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth, along with an Ethernet port for a wired connection and a USB-C port for power. For the most part, it’s everything you’ll need for a streaming device.

Now, the Google TV Streamer runs Google TV, which for the most part delivers on its part. Google has introduced a number of changes over the past few years, even adding Gemini into the mix. However, if you want a simpler experience, you might want to look into third-party launchers.

For the most part, you can’t go wrong here. It’s a solid option, and looks good in the living room. Of course, if you want something more affordable and don’t care what brand it comes from, the Onn 4K Pro is one worth taking a look at. Otherwise, grab the Google TV Streamer for just $80 while you can.

The Google TV Streamer is a new set-top streaming device from Google that improves upon the Chromecast 4K. It boasts Dolby Vision, which should offer a wider range of colors and deeper blacks when viewing supported content, and even doubles as a smart home hub with Thread support and Matter compatibility. With AI smarts in tow, the device can curate content based on your preferences across all of your subscriptions, and organize them conveniently in one place.
