One UI 8.5 test builds appear for more Samsung Galaxy Tab models

Although One UI 8 began rolling out not too long ago, the focus has already shifted to Samsung’s next major software release: One UI 8.5. After learning about the software’s features from leaked test builds, Samsung finally opened up the One UI 8.5 beta this month, albeit only in some regions and exclusively for the Galaxy S25 series.

A recent leak revealed the long list of Galaxy devices expected to receive the One UI 8.5 update. In addition to flagship Galaxy phones from the past few years, the list includes a number of Galaxy A phones and Galaxy Tab models. We can now add a few more tablets to the list, courtesy of a fresh leak over the weekend.

In a series of posts on X, @Alfaturk16 has highlighted the appearance of test builds for the Galaxy Tab S8 and the Galaxy Tab S9 FE. The user has also revealed the appearance of a One UI 8.5 test build for the Galaxy Tab S11 series (via SammyGuru).

This was always on the cards, given that the tablet lineup was only revealed a few months ago. Owners of the Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra will be among the first to get a taste of One UI 8.5 when it’s ready to roll out next year.

You’re likely in for a long wait to try One UI 8.5 on your Galaxy Tab

Based on the information currently available, Samsung is internally testing One UI 8.5 for the following tablets:

  • Galaxy Tab S11 series
  • Galaxy Tab S10 series
  • Galaxy Tab S10 FE
  • Galaxy Tab S9 series
  • Galaxy Tab S9 FE
  • Galaxy Tab S8 series

While the appearance of internal One UI 8.5 test builds for some of these devices is promising news, it doesn’t fully guarantee the stable update’s rollout next year. Nevertheless, owners of the Galaxy tablets mentioned above will be relieved to know that One UI 8.5 is in the works, even if we still don’t know when it will be widely available. There’s no word on when the Galaxy Tab models will be eligible to try out One UI 8.5 beta.

All signs point towards the upcoming Galaxy S26 series marking the debut of One UI 8.5 stable, while existing Galaxy flagships, including the Galaxy S25, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and the Z Flip 7, will be among the first of Samsung’s older devices to get the update. The manufacturer has recently rolled out Beta 2 of One UI 8.5, largely focused on squashing bugs that snuck through with the first beta earlier this month.
