In the weeks leading up to CES 2026, both Samsung and LG announced some of the new TVs set to make their debut at the event. And this year, it’s all about MicroRGB display technology.
Samsung announced in December that it will expand its MicroRGB TV lineup to include 55-, 65-, 75-, 85-, 100- and 115-inch models (the company previously launched a massive, 115-inch TV in 2025).
Meanwhile, LG plans to unveil its first-ever flagship RGB TV at CES 2026. Dubbed the Micro RGB evo, it boasts the smallest individual RGB LEDs ever seen in an LG TV and will be available in 75-, 86-, and 100-inch sizes.
MicroRGB TVs use extra-small LED lights that can emit red, green, and blue light; they’re an evolution of Micro LED display technology. Unlike Mini LED TVs, which are backlit with an LCD panel, Micro LEDs provide their own lighting. It’s all very technical, but what you need to know is this — MicroRGB TVs have brighter, clearer, and more colorful displays.
