Meet the perfect travel companion for your Oura Ring 4

Oura has released a travel charging case for the Oura Ring 4.

The handy accessory stops owners having to take the charging plinth included with the smart ring with them on longer trips away.

While the Oura Ring 4’s battery can last between five and seven days on a single charge, this can vary, and is obviously not enough for trips away from home that extend beyond about a week.

The solution is Oura’s $99 Charging Case. It works like a charging case for true wireless earbuds, as once the internal battery is charged, it will recharge the Oura Ring 4 five times. It takes up to 80 minutes to fully charge the smart ring.

The case is made of aluminum and is splash resistant. It’s also small enough to be easy to carry around, and can also work as a way to keep your smart ring safe when it’s not on your finger.

There are LEDs on the front to show the charge level in the case, and when the Oura Ring is on charge, it shows the ring’s status instead. The case is recharged using a USB-C cable, and it takes 90 minutes.

Compatibility, and alternatives

It is only compatible with the Oura Ring 4 — either the standard or Ceramic model — so owners of the Oura Ring 3 or earlier won’t be able to use it. Because it’s made to fit specific smart ring sizes, if your family owns more than one Oura Ring 4 in different sizes, everyone will need their own Charging Case.

The Oura Ring 4 is our top smart ring pick at the moment. The most recent Ceramic version also seems to fix previous durability issues, with the finish remaining pristine even after constant wear over several months.

Its closest rival is the Samsung Galaxy Ring, which comes with a charging case as standard. However, unlike the large internal battery inside the Oura Ring Charging Case, the Samsung case’s battery only has sufficient energy to recharge the Galaxy Ring one-and-a-half times.

The Oura Ring 4 starts at $349, and the new Charging Case is $99. The Samsung Galaxy Ring starts at $399.
