I thought it was clever once I got over the initial shock of what I had just experienced with the whispers and realized what the (Remake) title actually implied with a double meaning . The fact that they incorporated aspects of Advent Children, Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus into the lore made me realize these new games are all still apart of the FF7 compilation that started 20 years ago with the OG timeline still connected and everything is all canon which is so cool .
I just think it’s a shame that some people can’t appreciate what it is and what it’s trying to do because it’s not what they expected … and like they say ” Expectation is the thief of joy ” . To me I spent my first paycheck at 15 to buy a ps1 and ff7 and almost 30 years later I still get to experience this franchise with aww , excitement and wonder !!
