Teyana Taylor picked up a Golden Globe for best supporting female actor on Sunday for her role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, and her two minute speech was packed full of emotion.
“My babies are upstairs watching, y’all better be off them damn phones and watching me right now!” says a tearful Taylor in the clip above, before going on to end her speech with a powerful message.
“Last, but most importantly, to all my brown sisters and little brown girls watching tonight: Our softness is not a liability, our depth is not too much, our light does not need permission to shine, we belong in every room we walk into, our voices matter, and our dreams deserve space.”
