The Pixel 10a could arrive much sooner than expected

January 13, 2026

Google’s Pixel 7a was released in the month of May (2023), followed by the Pixel 8a in May as well (2024). Then, last year, Google moved the A-series launch slightly ahead, launching the Pixel 9a in the month of April.

Now, with the Pixel 10a, Google is looking to expedite the release cycle even further.

Here’s your first look at the Google Pixel 10a

Don’t mistake it for the Pixel 9a

The information comes via WinFuture’s Roland Quandt on BlueSky (via 9to5Google), who said that the device will be available “in retail around mid Feb.”

In addition to availability, Quandt also highlighted that the upcoming mid-range device will be available in two storage options (128GB and 256GB) and four colorways:

  • Obsidian
  • Berry
  • Fog
  • Lavender

We’ve seen Obsidian, Fog, and Lavender (purple) on other Pixel devices in the past, but we haven’t really seen a ‘Berry’ colorway. If Google intends to carry over the names across different product segments, then ‘Berry’ could very well just be a Red colorway, as seen on the 3rd-Gen Nest Cam.

There’s not much else going on here

A launch in mid-February happens to be much earlier than we had previously expected, but it lines up with Google’s recent release trend.

From what we already know, the early launch makes sense, especially since the Pixel 10a is just shaping up to be a rebadged Pixel 9a. The upcoming device is reported to feature a 6.3-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 8GB RAM, and a 5,100mAh cell.

All of those reported Pixel 10a specs are the same as the Pixel 9a’s, complete with the same Tensor G4 chipset and an identical design, which will likely incentivize users to pick up a discounted Pixel 9a in favor of a Pixel 10a.

The Pixel 9a launched for $500. It is currently listed for $400 on the Google Store.
