Strands is the NYT’s latest word game after the likes of Wordle, Spelling Bee and Connections – and it’s great fun. It can be difficult, though, so read on for my Strands hints.

After getting the most obvious ear-related words with DRUM, CANAL and LOBE I hit a brick wall and relied on hints to complete the game.
Even with a hint I struggled with ANVIL, thinking it was something like livna before finally getting it; if only I’d spent more time examining cross-sections of ear parts.
In my lengthy search to find non-game words I found HEAR, but failed to see that it was repeated. I hope I wasn’t the only person to do that!
