Google has added a feature to the Gemini app for when you need an answer and need it fast, with an Answer Now button. It skips the deep thinking to serve up a quick reply.
You can now make both Gemini Pro and Thinking quicker
Those using Gemini 3 Pro or Gemini 3 Thinking/Flash will now see an Answer Now button beside the spinning status indicator. Interestingly, this does not appear in the Fast model yet — and it is doubtful that it will ever appear in the quick-answering version of the three Google models.
According to 9To5Google, the tech giant also split the usage limits for both Thinking and Pro. Now, AI Pro will get 300 Thinking prompts a day and 100 Pro prompts a day, while AI Ultra will get 1,500 Thinking prompts a day and 500 Pro prompts a day. These new limits also apply to free users; the company lists it as just “Basic access” for both Thinking and Pro.
To get the new feature to work, you simply ask a general question (as you would in Gemini) and then hit the Answer Now button. From there, tapping it will give you confirmation that Gemini is “skipping in-depth thinking,” and that your answer will appear shortly after. According to the three-dot overflow menu at the end of the response, Gemini will use the chosen model to answer the question rather than simply switching to Fast.
Google recently rolled out the new Personal Intelligence feature to Gemini, which essentially allows the chatbot to tailor its responses by connecting to your Google ecosystem (Gmail, Photos, Search/YouTube history). The good news is that this recently released feature is off by default, and you can still choose which apps Gemini can use.
Google has said this week that Answer Now will essentially replace the Skip button. This update is being rolled out today to both free and paid Gemini accounts on Android, iOS, and the web.
