Samsung Galaxy S26 launch date just slipped out

January 30, 2026

All leaks point to Samsung unveiling the Galaxy S26 lineup in less than a month from now, in late February. The company also recently posted the first teaser of the phone, confirming its imminent arrival. Now, a leak from Samsung itself confirms the date for the next Unpacked event.

In the last few years, Samsung has typically unveiled its flagship Galaxy S phone in mid-to-late January. With the Galaxy S26, though, the company reportedly pushed back the release due to last-minute lineup changes, dropping the S26 Edge in favor of the Plus.

As a result of the delay, leaks and rumors so far suggested a late-Feb launch for the Galaxy S26, with Samsung widely expected to host its next Galaxy Unpacked event on the 25th.

While the company has yet to make an official announcement, leaker Evan Blass has posted a Galaxy Unpacked event picture on X confirming the February 25th date. According to him, Samsung will showcase the Galaxy S26 alongside the Galaxy Buds 4 at its next Unpacked event.

While the event location is not mentioned, previous reports suggest Samsung’s first Unpacked event of 2026 will take place in San Francisco, California.

Considering the leaked image, the company should make an official announcement about the S26’s Unpacked event in early February.

Samsung’s next flagship earbuds will retain the same design as its predecessor but with some refinements. It will apparently ditch the cheap plastic look of the stem with a more premium brushed aluminum finish. They will also supposedly feature gesture support for hands-free control.

Galaxy S26 launch plans are clear, but pricing is not

Based on Samsung’s previous flagship launch events, the Galaxy S26 lineup should go up for preorder soon after the event in the US. The phones should hit retail stores toward the end of the first week of March or early in the second week.

Despite the ongoing DRAM and NAND supply crunch, Samsung will apparently not increase the Galaxy S26 pricing, at least in the US. That said, pricing in other regions could still see an uptick compared to last year’s models.
